Full-Speed Taps Product Line Information

Emuge Full-Speed Taps utilize unique design characteristics that promote freer, more efficient cutting and high speed for ultimate tap performance:

  • Advanced cutting geometry reduces friction between the workpiece and the tap.
  • High profile relief angles permit increased tapping speeds, reduced heat and longer tool life.
  • Optimized numbers and shape of flutes.
  • Shorter thread length.
  • Extremely hard surface coatings.
  • Coolant-thru technology.

Maintain Full Speed with State-of-the-art Tap Holders.

To get the most out of Emuge Full-Speed Taps, an appropriate toolholder is necessary. Peak performance and high process safety can be achieved with these advanced tapping attachments. Don't drive without them!

Switch-Master

New tapping attachment with a collet clamping head is equipped with an integrated reverse gear and is used mainly on CNC-controlled machines.

For CNC machines with synchronous spindle.

  • Time savings due to shorter time cycles.
  • Short gear change path allows faster movement from hole to hole.
  • Constant cutting speed = longer tool life and less strain on the machine.
  • Minimized axial forces exerted on the thread flanks of the tap.
  • Approximation sensor provides precisely defined gear change point.
  • Extremely quick changes in direction of rotation (35 milliseconds) reduces wear on gear change elements.
  • Internal coolant supply to 700psi.
  • Smooth, low-wear operation due to oil-bath lubrication.
  • Cutting range: #10 - 1/2" (M4-M12).
  • Max. speed: 3000 rpm.
  • Suitable for cutting right and left hand threads.
  • Standard shank adaptation.

An integrated minimum length on compensation on tension and compression compensates for small inherent inaccuracies in synchronous tapping cycles, that lead to excessive friction on the thread flanks. An increase of axial force tapping cycle is reduced to a minimum.

  • Minimal length compensation on tension and compression.
  • Internal coolant supply to 700psi.
  • Clamping of the tap or cold forming tap by collets with a square seat (ER-GB).
  • No special tap shank is needed.
  • High process safety in synchronous tapping.
  • Ideal for high-speed machining.
  • Separate transmission of torque and axial forces:
    • positive transmission torque by means of balls.
    • transmission of axial force by pre-stressed, coolant-resistant plastic elements.
  • Cutting range: #1 - 1 1/2" (M2-M30).
  • Four holder sizes available.
