Unique Indexable Insert Thread Mills Provide 4x Longer Tool Life And Increased Versatility.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA (May 17, 2004) Today Emuge Corporation, the leader in thread cutting and milling technology, introduced a new line of indexable insert thread mills named THREADS-ALL. Designed specifically for the production of internal threads 1 1/8 – M30> on CNC machining centers, the highly flexible THREADS-ALL system is based on lean manufacturing principles and facilitates quick set-ups and rapid changeovers for a wide range of threading applications.

THREADS-All features hardened tool steel bodies and CNC ground with modular Weldon style shanks, which allow for fast and easy adaptation to a variety of machine tools for maximum flexibility and economy. Advanced partial-profile insert technology further enhances the system’s versatility and cost-effectiveness. The submicron carbide substrate, PVD-coated insert can be used for right-hand and left-hand threads. With only two inserts, multiple thread diameters and pitches of UN, UNC, UNF, UNEF, UNJF, UNS, M, MF and MJ can be produced. Each insert has four useable cutting edges and fast edge indexing can be easily accomplished at the machine.

Rigidity, security and precision are key design elements of the THREADS-ALL system. Precision pockets are machined into the bodies’ steel end face to the precise width, depth and length of the insert. The end, bottom and side surfaces of the inserts are then rigidly affixed in this solid steel pocket and securely fastened with a Torx locking screw. The rigid, anti-vibration body design allows for a length-to-diameter-ratio of up to 2xD and greater.

THREADS-ALL insert’s free-cutting geometry produces low radial cutting pressure, ensuring true-to-gauge threads; smaller machines can produce larger threads due to less spindle torque. Its innovative internal coolant supply exits radially at the insert cutting edge for optimized cooling, chip evacuation and thread quality. In addition, the system is quick and easy to set-up, maintain and program.
