Chamfer. 4-5 threads is standard.

Material. These taps cover the following range of workpiece materials: Free-cutting steels, construction steels, cast steels, heat-treatable steels, spheroidal cast iron up to GGG70 (with restrictions, also GG), forged components, low-alloyed stainless materials, aluminum alloys up to 12% Si.

Coating. Standard type with surface treatment NT2 (nitrided and steam-treated).

Chamfer. 4-5 threads is standard.

Material. The cutting edge geometry is suitable for cutting general-purpose construction steel, free-cutting steel, heat-treatable steels, and low-alloy steel casting up to a tensile strength of max. 116,000 psi (22 Rc).

Machining. When tapping materials with low tensile strength of less then 58,000 psi (119 HBN) a rake angle correction is recommended. When applying additional surface treatment "Ne" or "Ne2" cold-welding effects are reduced.

The spiral-pointed flutes drive the chips forward to prevent flute clogging. Lubricants flow freely.

Coating. Coated taps allow a considerable increase of cutting speed and offer extended tool life.

Chamfer. The chamfer shape and cutting efficiency correspond with Rekord B.

Geometry. Adapted for working heat-resistant and stainless steel materials.

Material. A.I.S.I. 200, 300, 400 and 500 stainless steels, inconels, monels, hastelloys, waspalloys and renes. The optimized edge geometry on this style allows it to be used for machining hardened and tempered steels and tool steels with tensile strengths ranging from 101,000 to 203,000 psi (207 BHN - 44 Rc) as well as tough bronze and electrolytic copper. Other applications are heat-treatable steels and materials of high tensile strength.

Chamfer. Chamfer length according DIN Form C (max. 3 threads).

Machining. For the machining of aluminum alloys and soft steels.

Coating. Without surface treatment.

Chamfer. Designed for through and blind holes, if drilled deep enough, because the chips are pushed to the bottom of the hole.

Material. High CrNiTi alloyed materials such as inconel, monel, and hastelloy.

Chamfer. Form "B" 4-5 Threads

Application. "Z" Geometry designed especially for CNC controlled machines.

Materials.

  1. Structural and free cutting steels and heat treated steel within tensile strength ranges from 58000 to 116000 PSI (119 BHN-22HRc) used in conjunction with good quality emulsions with a mixture ratio of approximately 1: up to 1:15.
  2. For stainless and acid resistant steels. Recommended for use with cutting oils or special emulsions with compression-proof additives of good quality.
  3. For forged parts, heat-treated materials, tool steels, steel castings, and high alloy steel castings.
  4. Almost all aluminum alloys can be worded with our tap "Z" without having to change rake angle or chamfer. Emulsions with a mixture of 1:12 up to 1:15 are sufficient as coolant and lubricant.
  5. For working nickel, nickel alloys and some titanium alloys. The use of cutting oil or pastes of high quality is required.

Coating. TiN for better thread surface finishes, higher cutting speeds and longer tool life.
