Coolant Fed - Through Hole
Threaded through hole parts can benefit from the additional lubrication and flushing action of a coolant fed tap. Emuge offers the most extensive line of coolant fed tooling for internal threading. Internal coolant channels direct the cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone. Pressurized coolant helps cool the tool and workpiece while aiding in chip evacuation. Coolant fed taps are offered in various configurations, premium HSSE and sub-micro grain carbide substrates. Various PVD applied hard coatings are available to assist with chip flow and provide additional tool life.
Coolant Delivery Options
- IKZ - Internal coolant-lubricant supply, axial (DIN designation: KA). The axial exit of coolant-lubricant provides optimum cooling and lubrication in the chamfer area. Chips are evacuated easily from blind holes.
- IKZN - Internal coolant-lubricant supply, radial (DIN designation: KR). Radial exit of coolant-lubricant is the safest solution for providing coolant-lubricant supply in the chamfer area even in through holes.
